Stinger is an arcade shoot 'em up released by Seibu Denshi on 1983. It is Seibu's very first game, before it changed it's name to Seibu Kaihatsu.
Stinger is a horizontally-scrolling shoot 'em up. It's most prominent feature is that it uses a vertically-oriented monitor instead of a horizontally-oriented one. Gameplay is typical, with players controlling a spaceship while shooting down enemies around a huge battleship in the background. Aside of the regular pea shooter the ship is equipped with an object called "Bongo", which serves as both a defensive and offensive method, protecting the player and tracking down enemies.
